Welcome to Zumba with Mariana!
I'm Mariana and currently reside in Northumberland and teach in Alnwick. Thank you for taking the time to visit my page, it means a lot! My hometown is Rochester, New York and I have lived in the UK for 17 years! I've been a ZIN™ Member since June 2020 and absolutely love teaching Zumba classes. I also work fulltime in two other roles during the day. I am a Business Development Manager for a Southern Company and Manage a Hall 24/7. My Hispanic heritage has boosted my love of any Latin beat and every other genre of music. I am currently licensed to teach Zumba Basic (since June 2020) and Aqua Zumba (as of May 2021)!

How can I book a session, do you have an electronic booking system?
-Bookings for each class must be paid IN ADVANCE via BACS or Paypal please
- Verbal bookings passed on and unpaid do not count as a space booked

⚠️From the 11th April, Zumba bookings must be paid electronically via BACS or Paypal IN ADVANCE– at the cost of £5 per session or may be block purchased- 5 sessions upfront for £20 (this is a limited offer). Cancellations:
Where possible, please can we try and cancel sessions with 24-hours notice!!
*Cancellations are no longer refundable (unless there is an emergency). If I am unable to teach the session due to unforeseen circumstances, the class will be transferrable to a class of your choice+ plus a free session added on (only for those students who have paid in advance).⚠️
-Please be mindful to consider where cancellations are increasingly made on the day/evening of the class.
-Unfortunately quieter classes have been taken off the weekly listing as I am running at a loss due for those sessions.
How do I book onto a Zumba class as a "New" Student (Updated 08.04.2022)?
- "New" Students, please see the steps listed below:
- Please email me: marianasantiago1980@aol.com - this is essential, I cannot take walk-in's due to current regulations
- You must complete a form (health declaration) prior to this class and book a space via email please, this should take moments but it must be returned ahead of attending classes (either live or virtual) should you agree with the document.
Where are classes held?
- Alnwick - Walkergate - Otherwise known as "St Michael's Parish Hall (rarely but used for extra sessions)
- Alnwick - Bailiffgate - "Costello Centre". End of the path shared with the Cookie Jar Bistro -follow path to the end towards Alnwick Castle. (Parking is best alongside Alnwick Castle when it gets too busy).
- Longhorsley Village Hall
- Whittingham Memorial Institute
- Shilbottle ( on occasion) Grange Rd - Otherwise known as "Shilbottle Sports and Social Club" (next door to KChem), not the large hall located at by the First School
Where is the Costello Centre?
- To the right of the Cookie Jar, walking towards Alnwick Castle.. You will see an archway that leads down a path and sign-posted! Another fantastic venue)! This is our newest and permanent location for Wednesday's.
- We are still seeking a permanent location for our Tuesday classes, however we are enjoying support local village halls and community centres in the process as they have been unattended for such a period of time due to the pandemic.
What to bring to class and Zumba attire?
- Please bring your water bottle, phone and keys.
- Wear something comfortable (a tee-shirt and leggings or gym trousers) to move in and trainers with grip - nothing hot flashy at the moment. Hold off until MTV invite us to do a segment- you never know...

- I have two left feet, is this a class for beginners?
- Beginners are absolutely welcome! The class can be modified to meet all levels! Let's get you moving and grooving, this is about fun and burning calories! Let's GO!
- Why am I required to fill in a waiver for virtual/ community hall classes?
- First, please read and see what your personal thoughts are regarding the disclaimer/waiver before participating in our online virtual Zumba® or live classes. The disclaimer allows me to know that you are fit and well in order to participate in class and in the event of an emergency (goodness forbid) I will know just who to contact. This information is kept safe and your health/safety is taken very seriously.
- In order to reduce the risk of injury, before beginning this or any exercise class, please consult a healthcare professional to be sure that you can take part at this physical activity. If at any point during your workout you begin to feel faint, dizzy or physical discomfort, you should stop immediately and consult with a doctor.
- What does a £5 class cover in terms of cost?
- All Zumba® instructor must cover quite a few things: licenses, Zumba membership fees, venue fees, online streaming costs via Zoom, insurance and music licensing. It would be illegal to run a Zumba class without any of the above or allow anyone into class without a waiver!
