South Plainfield, this one's for you. As your community steps into its Centennial year — 100 vibrant years since 1926 — we at Zumba can't think of a better time to invite you to start a brand-new chapter of your own. Whether you've been grooving in the back row of a class for years or you're simply ready to move your body and unleash your power, becoming a Licensed Zumba Instructor could be the transformation you've been waiting for.
A Borough Built on Energy — Just Like Zumba
South Plainfield has always known how to bring people together. Think of the legendary Labor Day Parade down Maple Avenue — one of the longest-running traditions in all of New Jersey — with its marching bands, its 5K race, its fireworks lighting up Spring Lake Park. That's community in motion. That's the exact feeling we create in every Zumba class: music, rhythm, connection, and pure joy shared shoulder to shoulder.
From the 127 acres of Spring Lake Park to the trails of Cedar Brook Park and the athletic fields at Borough Park, this is a town that loves to get outside and get moving. If you've ever walked those trails imagining what it would feel like to lead a crowd instead of just joining one, we're here to tell you: you can. And you don't have to go far to start.
Why Become a Licensed Zumba Instructor?
Here's the beautiful truth — you don't need to be a professional dancer. You don't need prior fitness experience. You just need the willingness to show up and let the music do its thing. At our trainings, a Zumba Education Specialist (ZES) guides you through everything you need to walk out ready to teach your very first class. From the four core rhythms to the formula that makes a class feel effortless and electric, your ZES has your back every step of the way.
Becoming an instructor means more than a new skill. It means flexible income on your own schedule, a built-in reason to stay active, and the chance to spark real, positive transformation in the people around you — your neighbors on Hadley Road, the parents at SPHS, the friends you'll inspire to finally say yes to the dance floor.
Trainings Within Easy Reach
One of the best parts about living in South Plainfield is that you're perfectly positioned in the heart of Central Jersey. With Interstate 287 at your doorstep and quick access to the Turnpike, Garden State Parkway, and NJ Transit, getting to a training has never been simpler. We have upcoming Zumba Basic 1 trainings happening just minutes away in neighboring Edison, with additional options in nearby Clifton and across the river in New York City.
Can't make it in person? We've got you covered there too. An upcoming Aqua Zumba training is available via livestream, so you can take the next step toward expanding your skills right from home. No matter which path fits your life, there's a spot waiting for you.
