Columbia, we see you. Between the energy pouring down Main Street every Saturday at Soda City Market, the roar inside Williams-Brice Stadium, and the rivers winding right through the heart of your city, this is a place built on movement, rhythm, and community. That is exactly the spirit Zumba is bringing to Soda City — and we want you at the center of it.
Why Columbia Was Made for Zumba
Capital City, River City, Cola — whatever you call home, Columbia has always known how to gather people and get them moving. From the bohemian beat of Five Points to the artisan breweries of West Columbia and the First Thursdays crawl along Main Street, this is a community that shows up, lets loose, and celebrates together. Zumba thrives on that same feeling: music that lifts you, a room full of people who have your back, and the freedom to be fully, unapologetically yourself.
With nearly 880,000 people across the Midlands and tens of thousands of students flowing through the University of South Carolina, Fort Jackson, and beyond, Columbia is hungry for connection and good energy. Picture leading a class that gives this city exactly that — a Saturday-morning kind of joy, every single day of the week.
From the Dance Floor to the Front of the Room
Here is the beautiful part: you do not need to be a professional dancer to do this. You just need the desire to move people. Zumba trainings are designed to take your passion and hand you the tools, confidence, and official credential to lead. Walk in as a fan of the music; walk out ready to become a Licensed Zumba Instructor.
Your upcoming Columbia trainings are led by Zumba Education Specialist (ZES) Ludmilla Fleury, an expert who lives and breathes this craft. A ZES does so much more than teach choreography — they coach you on how to command a room, read your crowd, protect your body and voice, and deliver a class that keeps people coming back. Whether you are drawn to an in-person session over at Onelife Forest Acres or a convenient livestream option you can join from your own living room in Shandon or Rosewood, there is a path that fits your life.
What You'll Walk Away With
These trainings meet you wherever you are on your journey. If you are brand new, a foundational course hands you everything you need to teach your very first class with confidence. If you already have rhythm and experience, there are sessions built to sharpen your skills, expand your musical range, and level up your presence on the floor. Every step moves you closer to doing what you love — and getting paid to spread joy across the Midlands.
- The confidence to lead a room full of people from the very first song.
- Hands-on coaching from a passionate ZES who has your back.
- A respected, official credential that opens doors at gyms and studios across Columbia.
- A community of fellow instructors who become family.
Your City Is Ready. Are You?
Imagine the Columbia you could help build: classes that pulse with the same energy as a sold-out Gamecocks game, that welcome people the way Soda City Market welcomes every neighbor, that give this community one more reason to move, sweat, and smile. That movement starts with one decision — yours.
Whether you dream of teaching in a packed studio near the Vista, hosting a class by the Three Rivers Greenway, or simply bringing more joy to your own corner of the Midlands, your journey begins with a single training. Columbia has always known how to throw a party and bring people together. Now it is your turn to lead the room.
