Why do I love Zumba?
It's exercise that doesn't feel like exercise. It's easy to follow, so you don't have to have a dance background to be "good" at it and EVERYONE can do it, regardless of age, fitness level, or physical limitations.
My Zumba Philosophy
I start every class with three ground rules:
(1) Take breaks to catch your breath, stretch, or get a drink of water as frequently as you need; I promise we'll all still be here when you get back.
(2) Take everything at your own level; adjust range of motion and level of impact to what feels right for your body. If it hurts, don't do it. If you want to kick up a notch, that's cool too.
(3) If your moves don't match mine or your neighbor's, THAT IS OKAY! If you are moving and having a good time, you are doing it correctly!
My class is unique because...
I like to play local music during my cool downs. There is a lot of great music coming out in the Washington, DC region and many people don't realize it's being made right outside their doors! You can hear a different local artist each class while we lower our heart rates and stretch out after our workout.
