Hello! I'm Agnieszka Zalewska, and I live in Jamaica Plain, MA. I've been a ZIN™ Member since Nov 2016 and I absolutely love teaching Zumba classes.
I went through many surgeries as a child and I was never encouraged to exercise, dance, move. That resulted in becoming a young adult without much athletic ability. I used to think this is just the way I am: un-athletic and uncoordinated. I used to think, fitness and dance is for other people, those with "natural talent" for those things. In 2011, my mom inspired me to go to zumba class. It was her attitude that amazed me - she said she cannot really follow the instructor very well, but she does not care! I decided I will try. For some time I was in the very end of the room, scared to have people look at me! slowly I started moving closer to the front to see better. Then I got addicted to music and I got down the basic Zumba moves. All of the sudden I found myself coordinated and in great shape! and I realized that's it! it is not a talent we are either given at birth or not. It is just patience and repetition. This is the main thing I always try to tell my participants! Especially when I hear someone say "I am not coordinated.'
My goal is to inspire my participants to exercise, de-stress, to let go. I strive to make my classes inclusive to all ages and fitness levels. For my playlist, I try to keep the choreography really simple (yet fun)! In my class, I like to create the atmosphere of comfort, community, and smile. I think good atmosphere in a fitness class is the key to make members feel they have a safe space they want to come back to. I love to see people challenging themselves and improving their fitness level. The best reward is seeing them feel satisfied with their progress, and in great mood after class! Come join me, I guarantee you will have a blast! Got questions, don't hesitate to drop me a message!
