Mesa, we see you. Under more than 300 days of Sonoran sunshine, this corner of Arizona's East Valley has a rhythm all its own — and we're bringing Zumba right to your doorstep. If you've ever felt the beat in your chest and thought, “I could lead this,” consider this your invitation. We're here to help you turn that spark into a credential: Licensed Zumba Instructor.
Why Mesa was made to move
The third-largest city in Arizona, Mesa calls itself “City Limitless,” and honestly, that's the Zumba spirit in two words. From the walkable, mural-splashed streets of award-winning Downtown Mesa to the global flavors of the Asian District along Dobson Road, this is a place that already celebrates connection, culture, and community. Add in the energy of the Mesa Music Festival, concerts at the Mesa Amphitheatre, and a creative heartbeat anchored by the Mesa Arts Center, and you've got a city that knows how to come alive.
Mesa also happens to be the first Autism Certified City in the U.S., a place built around inclusion and welcome. That's a value we hold close. At Zumba, our mission is to move all people to unleash their power — embracing themselves and others to achieve positive transformation. A city that leads with accessibility and openness? That's our kind of dance floor.
From the desert to the dance floor
Mesa residents already know how to make the most of their surroundings. You hike the Wind Cave Trail at Usery Mountain Regional Park, float the Salt River in summer, and gather at Sloan Park and Hohokam Stadium for Cactus League baseball. You chase peaches and citrus along the Fresh Foodie Trail® and catch the Valley Metro Light Rail straight down Main Street. You move with purpose. Imagine channeling that same get-up-and-go into a room full of people, a great playlist, and your own class — no experience required, just the willingness to show up and shine.
What becoming a Licensed Zumba Instructor really means
Here's the straightforward truth: you don't need to be a professional dancer. You don't need to have it all figured out. Our trainings are led by a Zumba Education Specialist (ZES) — a real, passionate expert who will guide you step by step, break down the rhythms, and send you off feeling ready to lead. By the end, you'll have the tools, the confidence, and the credential to teach your very first class.
We're hosting upcoming Zumba Basic 1 and Jump Start Gold trainings right here in the Mesa area, with options nearby in Phoenix and Scottsdale too — so you can find the date and location that fits your life. Whether you want to teach full classes or specialize in programs designed for active older adults, there's a path with your name on it.
