Due to the current global health crisis I am now teaching online classes - Zumba, Zumba Gold and working on Zumba Gold chair for the elderly and others who need a chair based workout.  (Please contact me if you want to access those classes or offer help to get more people supported.)

Before that, I took quite a bit of time away from Zumba, because after six years of teaching and many, many badges, I needed to take a break and see what else the world had to offer.

I'm licensed to teach all of the programs you see here, which I'd like to explain to you, along with the other badges... 

The original Zumba Fitness class - the high energy classes you're probably familiar with... 

...then there are my Zumba Gold classes for anyone who wants a low impact workout (especially suitable for the over 50s and the deconditioned adult). 

I also taught many Zumba Gold chair classes for those who wanted a chair for support - including special classes for Multiple Sclerosis and dementia groups and national pilot projects. 

I also taught classes for people with special needs bringing together the best of Zumba and Zumba Gold and even Zumba Gold chair to make it appropriate, which were some of the most rewarding moments of my life. 

Then there's Zumba Toning with weights (when I get a bit strict and sound like a fitness instructor), Zumba Kids and Aqua Zumba which is just heaven because it puts Zumba which is awesome with water which is always fun! 

I know a lot of people worry about fitness, dance ability, co-ordination or even age when going to a class but a real Zumba Instructor knows that their job is not to judge you but to support you whatever your fitness goals. They know that anyone can do it when it comes to Zumba, because it's all about having fun and enjoying our "exercise in disguise". 

For the rest of the Brownie type badges on this page, they simply explain some of the training and events I've done. I've completed the Zumba Core training, which focuses on abs that are a popular target area for many people (and don't worry we work them in Zumba Gold too!) I've also completed the Zumba Glutes training for the thigh and bottom area - another popular target area and, like our core, essential for maintaining a healthy back (and again we work this area in Zumba Gold!) Zumba with Burst is a great way to get an even higher impact workout use HIIT techniques, which I can incorporate into all my classes. 

I've also attended Zumba Convention in Florida in 2013, 2014, and 2015, Zumba London Conference in 2012, Zumba Instructor Academy in Germany in 2014 and Zumba Instructor Academy in London in 2016 and 2017 - fantastic events where I've learned so much, which I then bring back to my own classes. 

PS is for Pro Skills, which is all about presentation skills and how to encourage and support people in my class even better, so that everyone, especially newcomers, has a really great time. 

Six of the badges are my trainings to teach Zumba, Aqua Zumba, Zumba Gold, Zumba Kids and Zumba Kids Jr. (these two are represented by the K badge), Zumba Toning and Zumba Gold-Toning. 

The B2 badge is for Basic Steps 2. (Just for your peace of mind I also have my Level 2 Aqua from YMCA, have had several CRB checks and my First Aid certificate!) 

My newest badge is for Plate by Zumba - our healthy eating plan which is great to keep me fit and energised to teach you and which I coach as an online class. 

If you're looking for someone to come and demonstrate Zumba or organise an event (when this is all over) I can help! I've taught many, many different styles of event from children's birthday parties to Zumbathon charity events, special needs charity classes, PE lessons in schools, themed master classes such as Halloween, Bellydancing, Christmas, Caribbean... and I've even been privileged to have participated at major events as part of London 2012, dancing in Trafalgar Square twice! And been on the Lorraine TV show twice with the lovely Maxine Jones.
