Gresham, we see you. Nestled east of Portland and standing proud as the gateway to the Columbia River Gorge and mighty Mount Hood, your city has always known how to move. From the trails of the Springwater Corridor to the energy of the Festival of the Arts, Gresham lives life in motion. Now, Zumba is bringing that same joyful, empowering energy to your doorstep — and we are inviting you to step in, let loose, and transform.
Why Gresham Is the Perfect Place to Become a Licensed Zumba Instructor
There is something special about this corner of Oregon. As the fourth-largest city in the state and second-largest in the Portland metro area, Gresham is a community that keeps growing, diversifying, and reinventing itself. From its roots as an agricultural town to its new identity as a hub for healthcare, advanced manufacturing, and education, this city knows that transformation is a way of life. And that is exactly what Zumba is all about: personal transformation and community connection through music and dance.
With a median age of around 38 and a vibrant mix of multi-generational Oregonians, young professionals, families, and growing immigrant and refugee communities, Gresham is bursting with people ready to move. Whether your neighbors gather at Rockwood Market Hall, celebrate heritage at Juneteenth and Day of the Dead events, or dance into the evening at Downtown Third Thursdays, one thing is clear — this is a city that shows up for one another. As a Licensed Zumba Instructor, you could be the one leading that celebration.
Turn Your Passion Into Purpose
You do not need to be a professional dancer. You do not need years of experience. All you need is the desire to move people — literally and emotionally. At a Zumba Basic 1 training, you will learn the core steps, the signature rhythms, and the formula for leading classes that leave every room buzzing with energy. By the end, you will walk away ready to teach your very first class as a Licensed Zumba Instructor.
Our trainings are led by a Zumba Education Specialist (ZES) — a passionate expert trained to guide you every step of the way. Your ZES will break down the techniques, share the secrets of great class flow, and fire you up with the confidence to own the floor. It is uplifting, it is fun, and honestly? It flies by.
Trainings Within Easy Reach of Gresham
One of the perks of living in Gresham is connectivity. You are minutes from Portland International Airport (PDX), linked by Interstate 84 and Interstate 205, and served by TriMet’s MAX Light Rail Blue Line. That means getting to an upcoming training — whether right here in Gresham or in nearby communities like Hillsboro and Newberg — is simple. Prefer to learn from home? We even offer livestream options so you can start your journey without leaving your living room.
Imagine wrapping up a training and celebrating with a stroll through Main City Park, a quiet moment at the Tsuru Island Japanese Garden, or a sunrise hike up Hogan Butte with views of Mount Hood, Mount Adams, and Mount St. Helens. In Gresham, the balance of movement, nature, and community is woven into everyday life — and Zumba fits right in.
