Thank you for your interest in hosting an Instructor Training at your fitness facility. All Instructor Training Courses are taught by an Education Specialist (Trainer).

There is no fee to the facility to host an instructor training.

There is no money exchange between a hosting facility and Zumba Fitness, LLC unless special arrangements have been previously arranged in writing

There is no monthly fee for a facility to use the Zumba name, as long as the instructors have been trained by Zumba Fitness, LLC and maintains a current certificate. There is an optional program that instructors frequently join in order to receive continuing education, music, choreography, marketing support, ideas, networking, etc. This will be explained in full at the instructor training. It is optional.

Instructor Training Courses are scheduled a minimum of 10 weeks in advance. Example: Reserve date in September for December training course. However, more notice is preferred.

Host facility will receive one FREE Zumba Instructor Training registration for an individual. This individual should be available to help with: set up the night before, registration in the morning, and break down at the end of the day, plus any other facility needs during the instructor training day. The Education Specialist (Trainer) will register this individual as "free." This individual does not register online. (Depending on the type of workshop hosted, the indidividual registering as "free" may be required to be an existing Zumba instructor or ZIN member. Your trainer will explain this to you.)

The host must provide three helpers (usually the free person and two others) for the night before the instructor training (for set up) and 3-4 helpers in the morning (usually from around 7:00-9:00am) for registration.

The Education Specialist (Trainer) will provide the facility with a flyer to distribute. Host facility must help in marketing the instructor training by networking with local and regional contacts, facilities, gyms, as well as area instructors.

A group discount is available for 10 or more attendees for Basic Steps Level 1 instructor training courses. Attendees must register at the same time to receive the group discount. Work with your Education Specialist (Trainer) to arrange this group rate. All group registrants go through the Education Specialist (Trainer), not the online registration. There are no group rates for Basic Steps Level 2, Toning, Zumbatomic, Aqua, Gold or other instructor training courses.

Individuals not in the group will register for the instructor training on zumba.com.

Zumba Fitness reserves the right to cancel any instructor training up to 7 (seven) days of the training date due to extenuating circumstances that may arise or if there is a lack of interest/registrants.

 top ↑

Once a host has committed to a training date, the host is expected to make every effort to hold the event as scheduled. In extenuating circumstances, if the host is unable to provide the stated facility, the host will provide Zumba Fitness with an alternative venue of equal size in the local area.

The Education Specialist (Trainer) will need 4-5 tables on the evening before the instructor training to set up registration and other needs. For Zumba Gold instructor training courses, chairs are needed for the "chair workout" segment (approx. 20-25 chairs) and a white wall space or screen is needed to project the presentation. A large trash can is always recommended to help keep your room clean.

The Education Specialist (Trainer) will run all the processes. All registrations and money are handled through the Education Specialist (Trainer) and the Zumba website. However, the Education Specialist (Trainer) will need an active Group Exercise Director (or some contact person at the facility) to help with "getting the word out," setting up, making sure all processes run smoothly, etc.
